ACEs Test
Why are we doing this?
NTAI seeks to change the narrative around incarcerated people. We will do this by collecting Adverse Childhood Experiences Data on incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people. Through our website, both incarcerated people, and formerly incarcerated people can fill out the ACEs survey constructed by Kaiser Permanente. This newer version of the ACEs test was implemented after finding that communities of color were impacted at a greater rate than the majority of the population.
If you are incarcerated or formerly incarcerated, NTAI invites you to submit your ACEs score for evaluation. The data will be used to demonstrate the urgent need for trauma therapy and trauma treatments within the carceral system. NTAI believes that screening for trauma and treating trauma is the only way to stop generational trauma.
This is an emotionally difficult test. Please watch the primer video before you take this test to learn more about the history of this test, and what the test evaluates.
